Full Description:
Begin your day trip with a pick-up from your Athens hotel or apartment early in the morning. Depart from Athens and drive through the fertile plain of Beotia via Thebes and Levadia while our guide will introduce you with the mainland Greece’s surroundings. After a nearly 3 hours drive and a short stop between, you will arrive at Delphi, on the South sloap of mount Parnasos.
On the walking tour which will follow around the archeological site, you will pass by Castalia Spring, stop by the monument of the Argive Kings, the treasury of the Athenians, the Athenian Stoa, the Polygonal Wall, the monument of Platea and the Temple of Apollo famous for its oracle. Our official guide will provide all details and information and tell you everything about the impact of Delphi on the Hellenic world. After finishing with the outdoor sightseeing we will enter the Delphi museum to guide through spectacular exhibits including the frieze of the Treasury of the Sifnians, the Naxian Sphinx, the Statue of Antinoos, the famous bronze Charioteer and many other artifacts.
After finishing your guided tour you will be transferred at the modern village of Delphi for optional lunch (own expenses), Before we take the drive back to Athens you will have a stop at the picturesque mountain village of Arachova (short stop), built on the south slopes of Parnassus for a cup of coffee and some last photos . This tour returns to Athens in the late afternoon dropping you off at your hotel or apartment.
